Ruth PickeringGod started the process of preparing Ruth for missionary service at an early age ... when at 2 months of age she went with her parents to Rabaul in New Guinea where she spent the first 3 years of her life in a hostel with 17 big brothers and sisters. Between the ages of 12 and 15, Ruth returned to Australia to boarding school, which was a difficult experience but would have long term impact.
She became a teacher and spent a wonderful three years teaching infants school at a new Christian school in Taree before God lead Ruth on the next stage of the adventure that has been her life; two years at Tahlee Bible College. While there she realised she had a great burden for MK's and their education.
Her first 3.5 years in Asia was spent homeschooling kids of 3 different western families, then language learning and university teaching while church planting.
Since returning to Australia in 2001 Ruth has been mobilising churches and young people who are keen to find out what God would have them do.
Ruth lives in Cabramatta where her neighbours are from Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Uruguay, and even the occasional Aussie.
Ruth will be leading the workshop on 'Engage by Prayer Walking.' Back |
